VMO stand for Vastus Medialis Oblique, part of the quadriceps, located medially in the thigh that extend the knee. I had to do a quick video for a client who were going to Melbourne Ironman the same day to compete. He needed as much advice and tips to perform at his best and injury free.
This exercice allow you to wake up the VMO, to teach the muscle to be activated which leads to a better strenghtening of the knee stabilisator. if your knee muscle are here, to stabilise movement and perform stronger extention, you will be less likely to hurt your knee while running long distance (42km).
